Title: “Who Rescued Whom?"

“Inspired by natural forms, rural surroundings and the happier side of animal rescue, these pieces are intended to deliver joy” - Jill

Jill Flinn has been designing and creating bas relief sculpture paintings since 1990. Each of these one-of-a-kind pieces are an original paper clay sculpture and acrylic painting –She creates her own canvas with a sculpting compound called Paper Clay – a material that air hardens and does not warp or shrink like earthen clay. Upon completing each dimensional acrylic painting, they are matted in acid free white mat board and framed by her husband, Steve Flinn.

An integral part of the beauty and soul of this Work are the painting’s titles that Jill bestows to each piece – handwritten on the bottom on the white mat board.

Jill draws from and stylizes images found within the Missouri countryside.  Never ones to turn away creatures in need, she and Steve have taken in numerous abandoned cats and dogs. They have an out-of-pocket no-kill shelter for dogs, housing and caring for as many as 42 dogs, and a few as 20.  Much of Jill's artwork is inspired by the antics of these rescued sweethearts. As Jill explains, she’s been turning her art into kibble for over two decades.
