Bryee Dimitruk began creating art from hot and cold glass in 1998 – while working with the internationally lauded studio Steven Lundberg Art Glass in Santa Cruz CA. During five years with Steven Lundberg, he studied under and collaborated with masters on work found in The Corning Museum, Gump’s of San Francisco and Disney. He acquired Vines Art Glass in 2004.

Bryce was drawn to glass blowing by the extraordinary experience of working with glass in its liquid state, constantly in movement and very delicate. Each unique piece at Vines Art Glass is a reflection of Bryce's passion and heart.

Working with glass requires concentration, risk, passion, and artistic abilities that allow an artist to challenge one’s mind while tapping into their creative abilities. It can become somewhat of a meditation state finding the zone, and creating unique, beautiful pieces. His inspiration is drawn from what moves him; nature, music, art, a given day or moment in time. Bryce endeavors to create designs of peace so he may focus and meditate, in peace and joy throughout the day.

“All of my work starts with a molten gather of clear crystal glass out of my furnace. Next I apply the color using a layering technique to add depth and dimension, sometimes I use a pipe with a little bit of molten colored glass on the tip like a paintbrush to draw in branch like designs. To finish off most off most pieces I apply goldstone or even 24k gold to finalize my three dimensional design . Then I blow and shape my piece into the pre-determined shape using various hand tools and wet newspaper. Finally when the piece is finished I delicately apply a small drip of water to separate my piece from the blowpipe and place it in a cooling oven for 10-12 hours. Once cooled the piece gets the bottom ground with diamond wheels then polished and signed.

Glass is ever changing, never stale for a moment. Working with glass is exhilarating and exhausting all at the same time. I love it. One thing is certain, there is always a bit of me in each creation."

– Bryee Dimitruk
